Castle Hill / Mott

I managed to get some photos of Castle Hill earlier today, and have started to add these to the growing collection. I was quite surprised to see that paths and wooden walkways have been added to the Castle Hill area, the work has improved greatly the access to the Mound, but I wonder how many people in newton will ever benefit from the work, I suspect many have never visited it, many not even knowing about it. I know that Castle Hill was excavated in the 1800s but I am not to sure what was found inside it, no doubt anything found will be in the museum at warrington, I have seen though notes on the www that the mound may actually be the missing Mott and Bailey Castle, and that may be the origin of the Castle Hill Rd name.
